Presenting a professional citizen education model at Islamic Azad University of Tehran Province

Abstract

The present research was conducted with the aim of presenting a model of professional citizen education in Islamic Azad University of Tehran province. The participants of this research are experts and experts of Islamic Azad University in the field of higher education and have master's degree or higher. People were selected by purposive sampling method. Sampling was done with the participation of 12 experts. The data collection tool consisted of two parts, 1- examination and exploration of upstream documents, documents related to professional citizen training in the library section, 2- semi-structured interview in the field section, where the semi-structured interview with the participants continued until the theoretical saturation stage. To analyze the qualitative data, the theme analysis method based on the Atreide-Sterling model was used. In order to measure reliability, Holsti's coefficient, Scott P's coefficient, Cohen's kappa index and Kruppendorf's alpha were used, which were confirmed. ATLASTI software is used in the theme analysis. The results of the factor analysis show that among the 164 indicators (items) available, 24 basic themes can be identified and 6 categories of constructive themes have been obtained. Based on the obtained results, constructive and basic themes were identified. Constructive dimensions or themes are professional citizen educational planning, educational infrastructure, current educational situation, educational facilitation, professional citizen educational flourishing, and individual growth. This model, by offering extensive and varied training programs, allows people to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to enter the labor market and develop their careers. In addition, the emphasis on moral values and social participation in the education process leads to the education of responsible and active citizens in the society who are faced with the necessary abilities and skills to solve social issues and challenges.
