Identifying the Dimensions and Components of Reducing Professors' Job Burnout at the University of Sumer, Iraq

Professors' job burnout plays an important role in their performance decline. As a result, the present research was conducted with the aim of identifying the dimensions and components of reducing professors' job burnout at the University of Sumer, Iraq. This study was applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of implementation method. The population of the present research was all experts at the University of Sumer, Iraq in 2023 year which 20 people of them were selected as samples according to the principle of theoretical saturation and with the purposive sampling method. The research tool was a semi-structured interview with universal experts, which its validity was confirmed by the triangulation method and its reliability was obtained by the Cronbach's alpha method 0.82. The data of the present research were analyzed with using the theme analysis method in MAXQDA-2020 software. The findings of this study showed that reducing professors' job burnout at the Sumer University, Iraq had 80 basic themes in 44 organizing themes and 10 comprehensive themes; so that the comprehensive themes of this structure were included work and environmental pressures, work interactions and human relations, organizational support, work-life balance, career growth and development, infrastructural and technological issues, stress, organizational transparency and justice, financial dissatisfaction and rewards and organizational policies and culture. Finally, the pattern of comprehensive themes for reducing professors' job burnout at the University of Sumer, Iraq was drawn. According to the results of the present research, in order to reduce professors' job burnout can be taken an effective step to through the variables of work and environmental pressures, work interactions and human relations, organizational support, work-life balance, career growth and development, infrastructural and technological issues, stress, organizational transparency and justice, financial dissatisfaction and rewards and organizational policies and culture.
